The Nigerian Senate has ordered an investigation into the recent demolitions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and has invited FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to explain the reasons behind the

demolitions. This move comes after a motion was raised by Senator Ireti Kingibe, expressing concern over the illegal demolition of structures in the nation's capital.
The Senate has set up an investigative committee to look into the matter and report back within a specified timeframe. The committee will also summon Wike to provide clarity on the demolitions, which have left many residents without homes.
In another development, the Senate has also summoned the Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC over the company's refusal to honor invitations related to the Odukpani-Itu Highway project. The company has received substantial public funds, amounting to over N18 billion, but has neglected to provide details on the project.
