The Rivers State Government has denied reports that the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Etteh Ibas (retd.), summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, for questioning. According to a statement by Dede Friday, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the reports are "malicious fabrications" designed to mislead the public and disrupt peace in the state.
The statement reads, "The Rivers State Government has become aware of fraudulent announcements circulating on social media, falsely attributed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG)". The government categorically denies that any official announcement was made summoning Fubara and Odu to a meeting at the Government House on April 18, 2025.
The government urges the public to disregard the false reports, emphasizing that they did not originate from any official source. This development comes amid reports of tensions in Rivers State, with the government working to maintain peace and stability.
