President Tinubu Appoints Six Chief Medical Directors for Federal hospitals


In a move to strengthen the healthcare sector, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed six Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) for federal government-owned hospitals across the country.


The newly appointed CMDs will oversee the operations of federal hospitals in Akure, Gombe, Azare, Lafiya, Maiduguri, and Kafanchan. Here are the appointed CMDs and their respective hospitals:


- Prof. Olusegun Sylvester Ojo: Federal Teaching Hospital, Akure, Ondo State

- Prof. Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi: Reappointed as CMD of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe

- Dr. Dauda Abubakar Katagum: Federal Teaching Hospital, Azare, Bauchi State

- Dr. Ikrama Hassan: Federal Teaching Hospital, Lafiya, Nasarawa State

- Dr. Ali Mohammed Ramat: National Orthopedic Hospital, Maiduguri, Borno State

- Dr. Haruna Abubakar Shehu: Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, Kaduna State


All appointments are for a four-year term, effective from the respective dates of assumption of office. President Tinubu congratulated the newly appointed and reappointed CMDs, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and service delivery .


The President also reiterated his administration's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring all Nigerians have access to quality medical services.
