A Fitting Tribute: Patience Umo Eno Antenatal Complex Commissioned

In a poignant and meaningful ceremony, the Patience Umo Eno Antenatal Complex at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital was commissioned, honoring the legacy of Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, the late wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. This heartfelt tribute, coinciding with Valentine's Day, celebrates her unwavering dedication to maternal healthcare and family.

Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno's commitment to improving maternal healthcare was evident through her pet project, The Golden Initiative for All (GIFA).
Her tireless efforts to uplift the less privileged and advocate for women's and children's welfare have left an indelible mark on Akwa Ibom State.

The Akwa Ibom State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to reducing infant mortality and enhancing antenatal care. To support this endeavor, Governor Pastor Umo Eno announced a ₦200 million donation to bolster the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital's medical services, as well as an additional ₦10 million for the health insurance of needy patients.

The commissioning of the Patience Umo Eno Antenatal Complex is a testament to the collaborative efforts between the government, healthcare institutions, and community leaders. Governor Pastor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Emem Bassey, and the hospital management for their commitment to quality healthcare.
On his X handle, Governor Umo Eno wrote;
"Yesterday was an incredibly emotional and meaningful day for my family and me. The Patience Umo Eno Antenatal Complex at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital was commissioned in honor of my dearly departed wife and former First Lady, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno.
This gesture is the perfect Valentine’s gift, reflecting her deep love for family and commitment to maternal healthcare, which she championed through her pet project, The Golden Initiative for All (GIFA).
As a government, we remain committed to reducing infant mortality and improving antenatal care in Akwa Ibom State. That is why I announced a ₦200 million donation to support UUTH’s medical services and an additional ₦10 million for the health insurance of needy patients.
